Body Language Triva:

When someone is standing with their arms folded and crossed against their torso, it doesn’t “mean” they are “closed off”, necessarily. They might be cold. It is true, this posture can reflect a “closed” attitude or frame of mind, but in isolation, and without taking the context into account, it has little value.

Learning to look for “clusters” is key. A “cluster” is when you see two or three-the more the better-signals that are all indicative of the same thing.

Even with clusters, however, context can change everything.
Three “closed off” signals or body posturing examples may still have nothing to do with their frame of mind, regarding “openess”; it may only be an effort to warm themselves in a room they find to be too cool for their taste.

Until next time…
