The Shape of Your Body Language May Be Killing You!

The results of a recent study on obesity showed that pears may be far healthier than apples…in body shape that is. Our physical appearance is always communicating a powerful message to others. One quick glance, and someone can form an instant opinion about how much self-respect they think we have. As it turns out, however, the shape of our body is communicating with our hormones as well; the very hormones that will either support a well balanced state of health, or, that will shake the very foundation on which our health is built.

360,000 people were studied over a period of 10 years, in 9 different countries. The average age at the start of the study was 51. The results were shocking.

They found that even in those people with a “normal” weight, if they carried too much fat around their mid-section, they were far more likely to die a premature death. In fact, women with a waist over 39 inches, and men with a waist-line over 47 inches were TWICE AS LIKELY TO DIE PREMATURELY!

Looking your best, by exercising and staying in good shape is beneficial in virtually every arena. Fit people make more money, on average, and enjoy a level of energy and vitality that less fit people only vaguely remember. Those are wonderful benefits, to be sure. However, realize that the bottom line is your life.

How much more could you contribute to the world at large, or your own family for that matter, with an additional 5, 10, or 15 years? It’s in your hands. As your waistlines decreases, your lifespan increases. It’s really just as simple as that. The ultimate in body language as far as I’m concerned.
